Tools for Creating

This is a collection of tools I use for creating content by myself and students. I’ve tried to include when why and how these tools can be used in a classroom context. This is not an extensive list, however it is a list of tools I use regularly.

BookCreator

Purpose: Book Creator is a creative tool which allows the creation of ebooks. Students can insert images, text and voice to create the books. The books can be exported as ebook files, PDF or videos. The app is easy to use and manipulate.

Cost: No for three books – it is well worth paying for the full version!

Security: I’ll get back to you about this…

Mode: Online, blended, synchronous, asynchronous

Prezi

Purpose: A different way of presenting. This tool, though harder to learn than some, can produce sleek interactive presentations. This is something a little different.

Cost: Yes

Security: I’ll get back to you about this…

Mode: Online, blended, synchronous, asynchronous

StopMotion

Purpose: StopMotion is an app that allows you to create videos using compiled photos to tell a story. this is a great way to ensure students are planning their ideas. I’ve even used it in science to get students to explain gravity.

Cost: Depends on the version you use.

Security: I’ll get back to you about this…

Mode: Online, blended, synchronous, asynchronous
