Twitter is a fantastic tool. I’m using with my class. We have a secure account so not everyone can see us but we can see that is happening in the world. The children love sharing their work on Twitter. We are linked with parents and other classes. The discussions we have around approriate material to put on Twitter and who we should accept as our followers is a real world experience for the students

I’m not saying tools are a must but if used properly, social media apps can be great enhancers to your social networking endeavors, especially one that involves images and graphics like Pinterest.
I use Pinterest a lot for both work and pleasure. I love how I can organise what I find according to pictures! Try it if you haven’t already.

Twitter is popular with everyone but due to the very open nature of Twitter younger users should take extra caution. Remember everything you post to Twitter with an open profile can be seen by anyone in the world and is very easy to search for.
Bullying and cyber safety are very important issues. This is a good read with useful ideas.
